After releasing 10 albums in 5 years, Crimeapple has managed to stay on track in the hip-hop underground without it sounding like a struggle. Crimeapple's prolific run began in earnest with a high-profile freestyle on Statik Selektah's Shade 45, nearly 10 minutes long that cleared all doubts in the room. His style of dress - baggy hoodies, a bald head and a loud, red beard - quickly drew skepticism. But those doubts are quickly dispelled the moment he opens his mouth, his smooth delivery and nimble flow honed over countless rap battles, spitting verses peppered with clever one liners designed to stop you in your tracks. Born to Colombian parents and raised in northern New Jersey, Crimeapple finds himself, like many Latinos, between two worlds. He has released an album with DJ Skizz and another with Big Ghost Ltd. He has made two bilingual rap records in Medellín and Cartagena with DJ Muggs (Cypress Hill). However, the best is yet to come.
